Tree or Shrub (Forest of Dean)

I know nothing about trees or shrubs, I do believe somebody will tell me. It was in the Forest that I saw it, all alone. It was beautiful sight.

Sunday 30 August 2009

Grey Squirrel (Cyril Hart Arboretum)

There are too many of them, that is why some people go out and shoot them. But what a handsome beast, eating it's breakfast that had been for the birds. It's because they cause the diminishing of the Red Squirrel, or it is mere fun to go out shooting!!!!!!!!

Garden Spider (Wild Lydney)

This spider is killing his lunch, a fly.
Here is his lunch, readily in package care and attention.

Wednesday 26 August 2009

Lesser Black-headed Gull (Lydney boating pond)

It's the rainy season, the whole of it, in fact I believe it's the whole year. Oh, here I go again, moaning about the rain, of course there is a moment when its sunny, but I don't think so. This is a climate for the fish, not for us the human race.

Tuesday 25 August 2009

Coal Tit (Cannop Ponds)

It's really not nice, there's too much food! Still, I can just fill up as much as I want.Ummmmm!

Grey Heron (Lydney Marshes)

It wasn't a nice day, There was a bit of drizzle until after 1.30pm, then it started to get better and by 6.00pm, it started to dry things up. Good old sun! So I went out and saw this Heron.

Sunday 23 August 2009

Black Kite

This is a bad day for watching the wild life. But, it was a lovely day, when we took our mother out for a meal at a vegetarian place. She was 83 years young. Happy birthday mum!

Saturday 22 August 2009

Common Blue and Small White butterflies.

This pic is one of two butterflies enjoying themselves, unfortunately they chose the privacy of a flower.

The Small White is a bit shabby. It has been attacked by some beasties.

Friday 21 August 2009

Red Kite

There were a lot of showers, mostly in the morning but a little in the afternoon. So, I thought that it is time to give up, and do some shopping which I suggest, was in need of doing it. And then, it started to clear up. The weather, I mean. It will have to have wait..............I am hungry.

Thursday 20 August 2009

Peacock butterfly

I had to wait all day for the men who were going to make a new kitchen. I was so unhappy, that they didn't come until 12.30pm. So, I put my camera out in the garden and the Peacock butterfly, dancing on a Buddleia bush.

Wednesday 19 August 2009

Southern Hawker (Wild Lydney)

This is a couple enjoying the the sun. I am so terribly sorry, that a bit of light got into my camera. It must of been the setting I had done.

Moorhen (Lydney boating pool)

Today I had to go to the doctors for something that is quite regular, but I was stopped me from going out until 1.30 pm. So I did a slight riding on my scooter, around the lake. I caught this bird, it was taking a sunbathing lesson!

Sunday 16 August 2009

Wood Owl

I am not a liar, saying it is free living. No, I took this one at the International centre of Birds of Prey. It was a lovely day out, even for a Sunday! I will show you some I had taken, but not now, it has been a long day.

Saturday 15 August 2009

Broad-bodied Chaser (Foxes Bridge)

I thought you might have seen so many during this summer, it's time for them to disappear until next year. Here, it was raining in the morning and a strong wind, but it gathered all of the clouds, but it didn't rain. So I didn't go out instead.

Friday 14 August 2009

Chaffinch (Cannop Ponds)

It's been a beautiful day, but it looks like rain. No computer I'm afraid to say, so those people who keep watching Dean Birders on the screen will have to wait a while. You can still watch as it is not the picture but my computer.

Thursday 13 August 2009

Juvenile Blue Tit (Forest of Dean)

I can do it, yippee. But the other site is still not running. Oh hell!!!!!
Normally, I would show you a picture, but, the computer is failing to open. I have another one, but that one is an Apple. Unfortunately, I had all of my stuff on the Microsoft computer and I haven't got them on this one. So, I'll try to get them back. See you soon.

Wednesday 12 August 2009

Lesser Black-backed Gull (Lydney boating lake)

After the three most beautiful days that we have had, it's not surprising that it started to rain. No more whinging about the weather!!!! I guess it was a glimmer of sun, that I can credit myself with this Lesser Black-backed Gull. Lovely to get this one.

Common Darter (Wild Lydney)

You could have stepped on him, but, be quick, because he is a flighty little thing. I love this Darter, he has lovely slight movement.

Monday 10 August 2009

Black-headed Gull (Lydney)

Its a juvenile Black-headed Gull, pursuing the world from the boating pond. He could be waiting for the food. Every day there's a woman who rides along on a motorized bicycle goes around the pond. It's nice to see her!

Sunday 9 August 2009

Ruddy Darter (Lydney, The Marshes)

The day was warm and not a cloud in the sky. It is welcoming after the deluge of rain. Right now, after the rain, we could look out at the beautiful scene. But, don't forget our weatherperson, they think that tomorrow is going be bad weather, it makes me want to cry!

Saturday 8 August 2009

Friday 7 August 2009

Fritillary? (Cannop Ponds)

I am not quite sure what this is, I think it must be a Silver-washed but I'll wait and see. I'd like to know please. I'm terribly sorry about the state of my pictures, it's all up to me, I must have had a bad day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday 6 August 2009

Mute Swan (Cannop Ponds)

I guess that it was bad, in blaming the weather on THEM, after all, that's life!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday 5 August 2009

Common Blue butterfly (Forest of Dean)

It must be a female, with that gorgeous colouring. And today happens to be a wonderful day, no rain, yippeeeeeeee! Can it mean we are into the late summer, I hope so?

Tuesday 4 August 2009

Gatekeeper butterfly

I refuse to comment on the weather; its raining! This is the Gatekeeper in its beautiful colours, there are plenty of them. In fact, its easy to trip over them, if they weren't so tiny!

Sunday 2 August 2009

Small Copper butterfly (Wild Lydney)

Well, I have waited a year for this species, the Small Copper. Its not quite there, the photograph, not me, though I guess that you think that way.
