Sparrowhawk (My garden)

It is sitting in nearly the same spot as before, it is so surprised he didn't catch anything. The local council are going to chop down the trees, so they can build more houses, what a disaster.

Blackbird (Cyril Hart Arboretum)

As you have learnt by now, that the wrong title of the Feral Pigeon, which out to be the Stock Dove and the Field Horsetail was in the last listing. Lewis Thompson was that person, thanks to him. I will not get it wrong with this bird.....................................

Mandarin Duck (male) at Mallards Pike

In it's full plumage, getting ready to make a number of ducklings. They were introduced to the UK from China and have become established following escapes from captivity. Haven't they come far!

Monday 23 March 2009

Siskin (New Fancy)

It was windy and blew the gravel (that's what it seems), all over the camera. This is a bad day, there wasn't a Hawfinch. There were Siskins, Goldfinches and Bramblings but no Hawfinches. Oh well, I shall have to wait.

Sunday 22 March 2009

Great Grey Shrike (Boys Grave)

A bit far away, I am sorry about that, and I am playing with my camera. I shall work it out in a couple of days, I think!

I saw my first Wild Boar, yippee, but I wasn't ready for it, I didn't have my camera set up. But, it was beautiful, truly beautiful. He was stood behind a gate watching some lady with three dogs, I think that's why he was so interested. But, I am so jubilant.

Adder (New Fancy View)

Busily sunning himself
He was yawning, no problem!
The next picture is behind wire meshing

I have been waiting a while, to get a picture, in fact I got another 30. It was nice. Today, I had in mind to see the Adder and the Great Grey Shrike, and I got it right. I saw the GGS at Boys Grave, but it was too far away for pictures. But that was really good.

Saturday 14 March 2009

Thursday 12 March 2009

Treecreeper (Cyril Hart Arboretum)

Tuesday 10 March 2009

This is a "no go with pictures", it is the day when I took my car to get it serviced. It is a Mobility car, the best thing that has happened to me. I am too poor to go out and buy one. Along with its attractions, ie a driving ball to help me and its a left foot for the automatic gears. I can go anywhere, with the the trailor for my buggy. It is wonderful. Anyone should try them, if you are disabled.

Monday 9 March 2009

Stock Dove (Cyril Hart Arboretum)

They are really alright, a breed on its own. It is the most secretive and harder to get a good photo of. I know, but, I've been after this bird for a number of years.

Sunday 8 March 2009

Mediterranean Gull (Lydney recreation ground)

I was quite pleased to get this one, it was a bit too far away, but I photographed it. It was with the Black-headed Gulls which overcame it a bit.

Saturday 7 March 2009

Mute Swans standing on their heads (Lydney pool)

They are looking for some hidden treasure, it is close to shore!!!!!!!!!!

Great Spotted Woodpecker (female)

A juvenile Herring Gull, about 2nd years old. And, a beautiful day. So good, you would expect brilliant photos, but not a flaming thing of it. I was having a day off, I'll try later!
