Little Stint - Calidris minuta

Photographed at Rushy Hide, Slimbridge WWT, Gloucestershire, UK.

This was my first sighting, unfortunately it is far away, and it was badly cut.

  11. Congratulations on the lifer Bob!! And what a nice bird the little stint is!! And of course you know that a picture you feel you have to apologize for would be a good picture for some of us (well for me anyway -- I would be mighty proud if I got that good a picture of any shorebird!!). Thanks for sharing your new bird with us!!

  15. How little and cute! Their smallness is outstanding in the backdrop of the blurred spacious sea (or lake).

  19. At least you saw the Little Stint, Bob, even if it was a bit far away for portrait photography. You did well! This is a species that I've never seen. With my best wishes - - - Richard
